Structural inspections are one of the main services we provide. We inspect railway and highway bridges, buildings, retaining walls, culverts and other structures, recording their condition and any defects in detail. Working alongside our sister company, Matrix Consulting Engineers, the findings can go straight to civil and structural engineers for assessment, reports and repair design.
We also survey structures ahead of alteration work, scanning a building or bridge so engineers can design extensions, new staircases, strengthening or replacements from accurate measurements.
Drones let us inspect bridge soffits, parapets, roofs, chimneys and high-level elevations without scaffolding, access platforms or closing the road or railway below. High-resolution imagery and 3D models show the condition of each element and give engineers a permanent record to compare against at the next inspection. Where close access is needed, our surveyors are PTS and confined space trained for track-side work, culverts and tunnels.
After each inspection we provide a clear record of what we found, with annotated photographs, drone imagery and 3D models showing the location and extent of any defects. If you need an engineering assessment or repair design, Matrix Consulting Engineers can produce the report and drawings from the same data.
